If you go asphalt
Here's how the tiers differ. We install GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, Atlas, TAMKO, and IKO, and the brand matters less than the tier you choose.
What most homes here get. Thicker and layered, with wind ratings of 110 to 130 mph on many lines.
Worth it on the right house, unnecessary on plenty of others. The heaviest asphalt shingles, shaped to look like slate or cedar shake.

Roof replacement FAQ
Most single-family homes take 1–2 days of install once materials are on site. A large, steep, or cut-up roof takes longer. Your written estimate includes the expected timeline, and we'll tell you if weather moves it.
We tear off in almost every case. Utah code allows up to 2 layers of shingles, but a layover hides decking problems and shortens the new roof's life. A full tear-off is also the install our written 10-year workmanship warranty stands behind.
On an older roof it's common to find a sheet or two of soft decking. We replace up to four sheets at no charge, which covers the vast majority of normal decking problems. If yours needs more than that, we photograph every bad sheet and put the added cost in writing before we replace it. You approve it first, and nothing gets buried in the final bill.
Sometimes, yes. If your roof is under about 15 years old and the trouble is in one spot, like a few torn shingles or a failed pipe boot, a $500–$2,500 repair usually beats a $12,000+ replacement. The inspection is free either way, and we'll tell you straight, even when the small job is the honest answer.
Yes. We document the damage with photos, meet your adjuster on the roof, and put the documentation together. Two things never change: your insurer decides what's covered, not us, and you pay your deductible in full. A roofer who offers to eat the deductible is offering insurance fraud.
